The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the 2009 Support Our Troops project at their September 22nd board meeting.

Past years’ Troop Support collection drives have brought out the wonderful giving nature of our county family with the donation of thousands of comfort and hygiene items in 2007 and toys, gifts and gift cards in 2008. For some of the families receiving last year’s gifts, it was their only holiday cheer and many families expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the Support Our Troops drive.

Once again this year we collected toys, gifts and gift cards to help our troops’ families here at home have a happier holiday season.

The Support Our Troops collection drive ended December 7, 2009. We sincerely thank everyone that contributed to this year’s event.

“Qualified applicants” are current residents of San Bernardino County and are:

  • Honorably-discharged veterans of World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War
